Metropolitan of Kiev and Galitsky, Vladimir (Bogorivansky; 1848-1918)-the only hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, consistently occupied all three Metropolitan departments in the Russian Empire-Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kyiv. He completed his life feat in 1918 by the acceptance of a martyr crown. Vladyka was one of the first new martyrs of the Russian Orthodox Church in the bishop’s dignity and one of the first heavenly prayers for Russia during the years of persecution. The book introduces the reader to his life and memories of him.
