This classical work has always been very popular among Orthodox Christians. In the pre -revolutionary period, the book withstood four reprints. To the spelling of "Interpretation" B.I. Gladkova was prompted by the desire to convey in detail, with the restoration of historical realities, in chronological order, the words of the evangelists themselves - the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. These events have forever changed the course of all human history. To this day, this work is one of the main books in the library of the believer.

"Interpretation of the Gospel" B.I. Gladkova (1847-1921) was highly appreciated by the holy righteous John of Kronstadt (1829-1908). The elder of our days, Archimandrite Kirill (Pavlov) (1919-2017), recommended this work to his spiritual children to study and understand the foundations of the Christian faith. The book was published several times in church publishers and recommended by the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church for the widest reader audience.
