Mi Zha and Yong Suk, two young Koreans from the island of Chistjudo, have been friends from childhood, although they come from different layers of society. Having matured, they begin to work in the cooperative of the divers native village, led by the mother Yong Suk. Together, they comprehend the ancient art of Hano, hunters for marine animals, full of adventure and dangers.

But not only the dark depths of the ocean are fraught with a threat: due to the strategically profitable location, the island of Chejudo becomes an apple of expanse for powerful powers, and the personal experience of the heroines is intertwined with the great history of the twentieth century.
