After the death of her parents, the ten -year -old Polina Kenu is on her upbringing in the uncle's family. The family lives in a small village on the shores of the unfriendly sea, threatening to wash away all coastal houses from the face of the earth. The existence here is a dreary, but unwilling Polina, with its presence, changes the mood of others. At first, it seems that its cheerfulness is a children's line that will disappear over the years, but no. Even the matured Polina intends to be happy contrary to all hardships and blows of fate.
