The joy of repentance. Tikhon

Repentance is not what people far from the Church think about. Not deliberate and stupid self -abasement, but a courageous truth about himself. In Greek, repentance-methane-a change in the mind. After him, a person begins to look at himself in a completely new way. The sight, however, is not for the faint of heart. It and the great saints terrified and shudder. But the truth is worth a lot. And yet - this truth is revealed a hitherto unknown eternal, but absolutely real, filled with life in the world, which is not more beautiful and amazing - the world with God.
