The judgments of Mr. Jerome Kuanyar. France A.
“The judgments of Mr. Zherom Kuanyar” - the satirical work of Anatoly France (1844–1924), which reflected his thoughts on the morals and customs of France from the time of the Third Republic and - wider - the entire European civilization. Resorting to the Aesopov language, the writer classifies the action of the novel by the end of the XVII - the first quarter of the 18th century, but the present is aimed at the real for him.
The narrative of the book is almost badly: in the series of the next one after another, conversations taking place in the picturesque corners of old Paris, Abbot Herome Kuanyar sets out his views on the state structure, morality and law, the army and war, science in general and historical science and historical science and historical science in particular. The dynamics, eliminated from the plot, is transferred to the movement of thought: the skeptician-molester at first, the hero gradually comes to the need for an active action, feasible and honest ministry to people, rising to the height of true humanism.
