Tetralogy T.Kh. White “King of the past and future” (plus the “Merlin’s book” published posthumously) are the works of iconic not only in science fiction, but also in the literature as a whole. It is enough to mention the names of writers who directly spoke of the influence that T. Kh. White had on them to make sure of this. Michael Murkock, Joan Rowling, Neil Gaiman - the list can be continued for a long time.

The source of the cycle, of course, Thomas Malori, his “Death of Arthur”. On the other hand, White is so consonant with his era, so nourished these books with thoughts about good and evil, anxiety for the modern world (the first books of the cycle were published in the pre -war years), which, regardless of the source, their value and identity is not in doubt.

On the tombstone on the grave of T. Kh. White, the inscription was knocked out: “The writer who brought joy to people from the depths of his exhausted heart and praised life.”
