Boris Dix-Poet Symbolist (1882-1945). In 1911, his first poems in the magazine “Golden Fleece” and the poetic fairy tale “Toys” with drawings by the artist George Narbut (1886-1920) were published. Narbut studied with outstanding masters of illustrations by M.V. Dobuzhinsky and I. Ya. Bilibin. He sought to turn text and visual materials into a single, holistic organism. The peculiarity of his handwriting is the clarity and clarity of the picture, the small number of colorful tones. The era of classicism and the Russian Empire are well guessed in the style of Narbutov illustrations.
