1936. Vein. Fifteen -year -old Stefan and his girlfriend Zofi have fun with friends: they walk around the city, go to the cafe, explore the Viennese dungeons. But everything changes sharply when in 1938 Hitler captures Austria. The Nazis kill the father of Stefan, send his family to the ghetto, and Stefan himself is forced to hide in order to avoid sending to labor camps. Zofi’s mother is arrested for the publication of the anti -Nazi newspaper.

She manages to agree with the UK representatives on the reception of refugee children and to obtain permission from the Government of New Nazi Germany. The first train from Austria takes 600 children, and among them Stefan, his little brother and Zofi, to England. But what awaits them there?
