The life of Marran. Aginis Marcos
Once, the father showed a small Francisco family relic - an old key that opened the gates of scholarship. Soon, the father, the doctor, baptized by the Jew of Diego da Silva, - and the boy’s older brother was accused of the Inquisition of secret Jewish, and the mother died, not taking grief. Francisco was left alone, but retained the memory of the family, about the key and the faith of the ancestors and decided to become a doctor. Thus began the life path of the doctor and humanist Francisco Maldonado and Silva (1592–1639), who, not bending the ruthless machine of the medieval inquisition, openly defended his faith and freedom and with his whole life proved that it was possible to break the body, but not the spirit.
Marcos Aginis was born in Argentina in 1935 in a family of Jewish immigrants. As a child, he learned that all his relatives in Europe were killed by the Nazis. Aginis believes that this is what prompted him to become a writer. The novel "Life of Marran", first published in 1991, was the result of the enormous archival work of the author.
