The series of “Master of Book Illustrations” is designed to introduce readers to the work of the most famous world illustrator artists. The next release is dedicated to the French schedule Benjamin Rabier, 1864-1939), the author of numerous comics and one of the pioneers of animal animation.
The artistic heritage of the slave is huge, but his important work was illustrations for the satirical fairy tale about the fox of Renara , which is a monument of French literature of the late XII-XIV centuries. This story was based on Aesop's fables and oriental tales about animals. The allegorical figure of Renara was also popular outside France. So in pre-revolutionary Russia, the “life of Khitlis” appeared, the poetic arrangement of Polyxen Sergeevna Solovyova (1867-1924), perfectly complemented by the animal illustrations of the talented Benjama Slave.
