The magazine “Counterkultur'a” at the turn of the 80-90s of the last century was called the “flagship of Rock-Samizdat”, “The most influential edition” in the non-certificate (and simply obscene) musical press. In essence, it was a journalistic art project in which some saw the propaganda body of the Civil Defense group and the Siberian punk as a whole, others-a postmodern publishing experiment.

The most resonant numbers of the magazine were published during the period when the rock music was not yet considered a symbol of the Mesozoi, but was completely revolutionary, crushing the canons of the direction-at least in the USSR. Therefore, there are so many discussions about rock as a way of life, which is an antithesis of a consumer existence, of which the non -conformist ideology of the era was built. Many speculations on the topic “how rock music destroyed the Soviet Union” dates back to this system of views and representations, the evolution of which is represented here in the form of chronologically promoting polydrama.

For the first time, the most iconic materials of the publication in its 15-year history (including texts from Pinoller magazine), as well as the thematic interviews of Sergey Guryev, who have actually actually the only speaker, were collected under one cover. project.
