This is a joint work of the Komsomolskaya Pravda publishing house and the Public Council at the FSB of Russia. A large group of historians, experts and veterans of the service found and picked up the main documents of the history of the formidable organization - the Cheka (the All -Russian Emergency Commission for the Combat Counter -Revolution and Sabotage), which has been defending a young state born on the fragments of the Russian Empire a hundred years ago.

Many of these documents and photographs are published for the first time. Over a hundred years of its history, Russian counterintelligence has repeatedly changed the name, but today the “Chekists” proudly call themselves both the young graduates of the institutions and Academies of the FSB and honored veterans. There are no assessments, there are no subjective interpretations of events - only documents.
