The action takes place in an old castle, where an experienced criminal encroach on the life of the Mistress of the Castle. A terrible crime committed in a locked room in the castle of Glandier near Paris is revealed by a young newspaper reporter. This is the first novel by G. Lerus about the adventures of Rultabia, which laid the foundation for a whole direction in detective literature. After reading it, the young Agatha Christie decided to start composing detectives.
