The name of love. Herrik R., Caria T., Shlley J.
In the 17th century, passions raged in England: it was determined who would later play the main role in history - parliament or king. A group of poems, in that struggle sympathized with Charles I and loved ones to his court, began to be called the penalies poets. In creative terms, they followed ancient examples and glorified life with all its joys. Today, finally, Russian readers got the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of this galaxy of interesting poets (among them Robert Herrik, Richard Lavelis, Edmund Waller, John Sacaring) in remarkable translations of Marina Yakovlevna Boroditskaya, laureate of the Prizes “Unicorn and Leo” (2006) and “Master” (2010), as well as prizes of the magazine "Foreign Literature" (2007).
