The origin of the species

“The origin of the species” is Darwin’s Opus Magnum, in which he in detail and accessiblely substantiated the theory of evolution of species and natural selection as the main engine of evolution. Now, when every schoolboy is familiar with the theory of evolution, it is impossible to even imagine what effect it produced first in England, and then in other countries this brilliant scientific work.

Darwin’s book, along with the “mathematical principles of natural philosophy” by Newton, “On the wealth of the peoples” of Adam Smith, “Critics of pure mind” Kant is included in the golden fund of human thought.
