General Anton Denikin played an important role in the events of the Civil War, he was the closest ally of Generals Alekseev and Kornilov, later the commander -in -chief of the Armed Forces of the South of Russia. Already in the emigration of A.I. Denikin became a talented writer. Among his main works “Essays on Russian Troubles” and “The Way of the Russian Officer”.

In the “Ways of the Russian Officer” Anton Denikin talks about his childhood, youth and military service. The author considers military service as the path of an officer: a military school, drill unit, the Academy of the General Staff.

Denikin had a chance to participate in the Russian-Japanese and First World War. The general carefully recorded his combat experience and impressions of the war on the pages of his memoirs, but the general did not have a chance to finish the description of the last war of the Russian Empire. The “Way of the Russian Officer” was published after the death of the general, becoming not only the last, but also the most important book of the military leader.
