The work of St. Theophanes of the Recluse “The Way to Salvation”, the most famous of his numerous creations, is written by the Lord on the basis of lectures on the moral theology that he read at the St. Petersburg Theological Academy. In this book, the saint revealed what the meaning of Christianity is concluded, the significance of the sacrament of baptism for a man of an adult and baby, described the steps on the path of perfection in God and the nature of the struggle against external and internal evil. Considering the problems of Christian life from the practical side, St. Theophanes proceeded from personal prayer and ascetic experience and answered the spiritual questions of everyone who entered the path of salvation.
