The road to slavery. Hayek Friedrich
Perhaps the most loud work of Friedrich Augustus von Hayek - “The Road to Slavery” - was published during the war (1944) and became one of the recognized works in defense of a free society. The repeatedly reprinted and translated into many languages, it had a great influence on the world economy and politics, embodying the ideological basis for abandoning total state control over the economic sphere. Hayek convincingly and reasonably debunk the myth of the effectiveness of the “omnipotent state”, criticizes the socialist ideology and economy and proves that they inevitably lead to totalitarianism and dictatorship. And the expansion of state power, according to Hayek, suppresses the personal freedom of citizens and the development of culture.
