Archpriest Alexander Men (1935–1990) - an outstanding figure in the Russian Orthodox Church, preacher, theologian, enlightener, author of dozens of books on the history of religion, the basics of Christian doctrine. He led a truly ascetic life, possessed the talent of a living and soulful word, his sermons diverged widely through the atheistic country of the Soviets, attracting more and more Christians to the church. For the first time, the book “The Sacrament, Word, Image. Orthodox worship ”was published in Brussels in 1980 and was an expanded version of the previously published essay“ Heaven on Earth ”. It refers to the structure of the temple, about the course of worship and its rules, established on the basis of a centuries -old tradition, about holidays and important postulates of the Orthodox faith.
