The secret legend of the Mongols. Great Yasa. Genghis Khan
Assessment of the activity of a particular historical figure is always subjective. And largely depends on the documents on which the researcher has to rely on, and, of course, on the conscientiousness of the scientist. The European historical tradition often a priori enrolled in the category of “cruel barbarians” of everyone who wore the title “Khan”. And Genghis Khan and his warriors are completely “Funity of Hell”! “The Mongols are the soldiers of the Antichrist who came to collect the last, the most terrible crop,” are the words of the great Roger Bacon.
Outstanding scientist, Academician B. Ya. Vladimir said once: “Chinsgis Khan was the son of his time, The son of his people, therefore, must be considered acting in the situation of his century and his environment, and not tolerate it to other centuries and other places of the globe. ” Surprisingly correct words! But until recently, few were ready to give such an assessment of the activities of the first Mongol khan. The reasons for this attitude, in general, are understandable. The hordes of Genghis Khan swept a destructive wave in Asia and half of Europe, sweeping everything in its path. “They came, broke, burned and killed”-such an image of the Mongol-Tatar and their leader for a long time became an archetype of cruelty and barbarism. Why did the Mongols become the “main offenders” at a time when everyone fought everywhere? Because they were stronger and more organized than the rest, and was headed by the outstanding ruler? The defeated never love the winners and can hardly recognize their superiority...
This book does not claim to restore historical justice. The main historical documents are presented here about the ancestors, life, board and the main acts of Genghis Khan. First of all, this is the “secret legend of the Mongols” - the colossal work of many Mongol chroniclers, the original source for all historical, art and scientific works about Genghis Khan and his era, a masterpiece of literature, which stands on an equal basis with the greatest literary monuments of antiquity - “Iliad”, “Kalevala” and “Kalevala” and “Kalevala” and “ "In a word about Igor's regiment." After all, organized Mongolian “Nestors” gathered all the traditions and myths about the ancestors of Genghis Khan. And this is no less - 22 generations!
The book also presents the fragments of the famous “Great Yasa” - a set of laws of the 13th century and “Bilikov” - a collection of instructions and sayings of Genghis Khan, giving excerpts from medieval sources dedicated to the great ruler. Together, this will allow the reader to create the most complete picture and see the era of Genghis Khan both through the eyes of his compatriots, and contemporaries and historians from other countries.
