A strange theft occurs in the mansion in Tsarskoye Selo near St. Petersburg-the unknown takes only 20 tiles of Flemish work, united by one topic: playing children. The owner of the house, a wealthy businessman, is in earnestly intrigued, and asks the investigator from Petrovka Maria Karavay, who brilliantly established himself in matters related to history and art, to engage in “particularly” this business.
