Pip Applby has everything: the prestigious work of a lawyer, a beautiful house in London and a beloved man. But one tragic accident changes her life and Pip is forced to leave for a small town, on a family farm. She will have to remember everything that she so dreamed of forgetting.

Employed in a local shop, she finds in one of the boxes the diary of actress Evelyn Mountkasl. Pip cannot tear himself away from him and soon notes that their lives with Evelyn are very similar.
