Twenty years after the overthrow of the Augurs, the rulers, who drew power in anticipation of the future. Once the future closed in front of them, and, not wanting to lose power, gradually they went crazy with their own helplessness. Now there are no augurs, and all people who have at least a semblance of magical abilities are under constant control, constrained by four doctrines. Davyan is one of these gifted, a victim of the war, which ended before his birth. Davian has no future, he is doomed to eternal contempt and slavery. In addition, as it turns out, of all possible abilities, he has only one: the very foresight that almost destroyed the world, and then disappeared. But the future is insidious, variable, and this discovery launches a chain of events that will lead to the most unexpected consequences and many deaths. And in the West, in the forest, a strange person comes into consciousness. He does not remember who he does not remember what his name is, his clothes are flooded with someone else's blood and, it seems, even his own thoughts do not belong to him at times... The path of a stranger and Davian will soon cross, and together they have to find out that there is a danger in the world much worse than the reign of distraught Augurs.
