The silence of Scheherazada. Suman D.
A quiet autumn evening in September 1905 in the ancient city of Smirna, a girl was born, who will receive the name of Schaerezada. The fights of the woman in labor were so strong and painful that even opium did not alleviate suffering.
On the same day in the local harbor a ship throws an anchor on the board of which the Indian spy arrives with the secret task of the British Empire. Avinash Pillai sees golden spiers and minarets, feels the fragrances of figs and chinar, hears the screams of street pilots offering their goods. Seventeen years later, he will leave the city covered by flame, inhaling the heavy smell of kerosene and Gary.
And between these September there will be many events associated with the intertwined fate of the Arabic, Greek, Turkish and Armenian families. Birth and death, love and losses - all this awaits the heroes when their peaceful small homeland is destroyed due to the collapse of the Ottoman Empire.
