The son of human. Malaya A.
Alexander Men - an outstanding figure in the Russian Orthodox Church, preacher, theologian, enlightener, author of dozens of books on the history of religion, the foundations of Christian creed, Orthodox worship. “The Son of Man” is the most famous book of Alexander me, written in 1966 and dedicated to the events of the earthly life of Jesus Christ. For the first time, it was completely published in 1968 in Brussels, and in the author’s homeland until the beginning of the 1990s it spread in Samizdat. For his missionary activity, Alexander Men, popular in the intellectual environment, was repeatedly persecuted by the KGB.
In this book, he strove in the language that is understandable to readers of the 20th century to introduce them to the gospel history, as well as talk about the rich tradition of its study. According to S. S. Averintsev, “the Son of Man” is “an unconditionally talented book, written with outstanding competence,” however, “nowhere is hypnotizing the reader by erudition... it takes upon itself the humble role of the conductor to the primary source, to the genuine gospel text.” Having opened this path for people brought up in an atmosphere of total anti -religious propaganda, the book of Alexander me today has not lost its relevance and remains in demand among readers of different generations.
