Emilio Salgari, contemporaries called "Italian Jules Verne." In his youth, while studying at a navigation school, he excitedly read the novels of the French Corifei of the adventure genre and eventually followed in the footsteps of his idol, writing about two hundred novels and stories. And although the author never left Adriaticians, his romantic and noble pirates have robbed all the sea seas. His novels from the “Antilles Pirates” cycle are particularly loved by readers, which tell about the incredible adventures of formidable corsers, who sowing fear in the Spanish colonies on the coasts of South America in the 16th - XVII centuries.
The real edition included two final novels of this cycle: “The Son of the Red Corsair” and “The Last Flimers”, in which the interests of the great powers and the brave robbers of the coastal fraternity again face. Sea battles, the blinding colors of the southern islands, irreconcilable revenge, passion, betrayal and genuine love - in these novels Emilio Salgar again collected all the necessary ingredients of the great adventure literature. The works are accompanied by a complete set of illustrations of the Italian artist Alberto Della Valle (1851–1928).
