2380. Humanity has mastered the technology of rejuvenation and learned to live forever. The interstellar community has already united more than 600 planets inhabited by people and interconnected by a network of over -light transitions called wormholes. However, in this ideal world of the future, the incredible suddenly occurs: two neighboring stars, remote for a thousand light years from the Commonwealth, suddenly disappear. Scientists come to the conclusion that a certain technologically developed civilization built a giant shell around each of the two star systems. But for what purpose?
