Vladimir Ilyich Lenin is one of the most striking and ambiguous figures in the history of the twentieth century. For all the complexity and inconsistency of the assessments of his activity, one can hardly deny the fact that, leading the political coup of 1917 and then becoming at the head of the Soviet state, this person had a powerful influence on the history of mankind.
