The book explores separate issues of the history of the medieval state and the law of Volga Bulgaria. The state of Volga Bulgaria was founded by Bulgarian tribes at the beginning of the VIII century. In the Middle Volga region and the basin of the Kama, it included the territories of modern Chuvash Republic, Tatarstan, Bashkiria, Udmurtia, the Republic of Marie El, Ulyanovsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara and Saratov, Penza regions, lasted more than five centuries and fell in 1236 as a result of the defeat of its horsemen of the Tatar Mongols of Batu.
