Boris Nikolaevich Poleva (1908-1981) - Soviet writer, screenwriter. During the Great Patriotic War, he worked as a military correspondent. This experience formed the basis of all the works of the writer. The most famous work of B. N. Polevoi “The Tale of a Real Man” (1941) is based on real events. The author was awarded the Stalin Prize, and the book became a classic of literature about the Great Patriotic War. This is an exciting story about the pilot Alexei Maresyev (in the book - Meresiev). The story of the real hero of the Soviet Union, whose plane was shot down in an air battle. The hero finds himself in the forest without food and water, and later, in the hospital, both legs are amputated to him. But this does not prevent Meresiev from returning to his former life and continue to fly on a fighter airplane. The pilot Meresyev is a strong, courageous person, with his feat he shows how to remain a real person in the most inhuman conditions.
