The story of one city

“The history of one city” is a sarcastic, full of irony, in which, under the guise of the “annals” of the fictional city of Glupov, the author mercilessly reveals the typical vices of Russian society - stupidity, tyranny and bribery of those in power, embezzlement and low worship of officials, laziness, non -education and lack obscurantism. Unfortunately, we have to admit that the homerically ridiculous and cruel phantasmagoria Saltykov-Shchedrin has not lost its relevance today.
