The published work - the “History of Vodka” - was originally not intended for printing and still never thought of as a kind of entertaining “history of drunkenness” for entertaining reading. This is a research work on the clarification of a specific, “narrow” and, moreover, a purely historical question: when the production of vodka in Russia began and was it started earlier or later than in other countries?

In other words, the author’s task was to find out if our country, Russia, was quite original in the production of vodka, or is one of us purely, as we think, by the national question, one of the national question Europe (and maybe from Asia?), So to speak, “indicated the path”.
