After the tragic incident, which left her deep scar, not only in her soul, but also on her face, Seij began to shun people. At night, she baked bread, and sleeps during the day. Once she meets Joseph Weber, an elderly school teacher, and comes closer to him, despite the age difference. Seij seems that life has finally gave her a chance of healing. However, everything changes on the day when Joseph confidentially reports his past. It turns out that this kind, attentive and shy person was an SS officer in Auschwitz, whose prisoner was at one time grandmother Seij, who told his granddaughter about the horrors experienced in a concentration camp. And now Joseph, who has been suffering from guilt in the atrocities made for many years, wants to die and asks Seij to forgive him on behalf of all the Jews killed in the camp and help him to die. But does the past give the right to kill?
