The struggle of strategic plans. 75 modern parties

The author of the book, the international master Maxim Chetverik, affects the important aspect of the theory of chess regarding the positional game. In most works devoted to the positional game, strategic elements are considered separately, while strategic plans (and, especially, the confrontation of plans) are dismantly less often. The works of the classics in this area are not outdated, but a modern view of the problem, taking into account the connection of Mittelshpil with the actual theory, is useful. The book of 75 examples, in each of which at least one partner bears the title of grandmaster. All parties were played in the 21st century. Initially, strategic plans are considered against the background of the enemy’s defensive actions, and then the active confrontation of the parties was studied within the framework of the positional game.
