The technique of artistic prose. Lectures. Zamyatin E.I.
Lectures read by Evgeny Zamyatin (1884–1937) to young Soviet writers and poets almost immediately after the revolution, were first published only 70 years later, at the sunset of the Soviet Union. In them, the author of the Antiutopia novel “We” appears from a new side: as a thin stylist with a sharp literary instinct, who saw the text through and through, until the inside of the inside. The reporting manner is combined here with philosophical conclusions explaining the plot, plot, language, visualization, rhythm and style of a work of art.
The collection also includes two autobiography of Yevgeny Zamyatin, who did not like to talk about himself, his thoughts about his thoughts about The literature of the turning point, including the one at the beginning of the last century, the essay “I am afraid”, and a number of stories mentioned in the lectures. Familiar to a rather narrow reader circle, they open a little different Zamyatin - a writer who is closely looking deep into a common person and the following independent laws of literary skill.
