The author of the book by Guillaume Pitron explores a global transformation that occurs in the international market of rare metals: why does their extraction become an instrument of geopolitics, and how do they affect the development of new technologies and a digital economy? What is the danger of using these metals, which is no longer possible to do in the modern world?

The preface to the book was written by Yuber Vedin, a former Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, one of the leading diplomats of our time. It warns of the dangers of a monopoly on the extraction of rare -earth metals, a significant part of the deposits of which is located in China, as well as the enormous environmental threat of their use.
