The tradesman in the nobility and other plays. Moliere J.B.
Mr. Jourder passionately dreams of getting into high society. To do this, he tries to imitate the nobles with all his might: he orders a tailor, which actually look ridiculous; He takes the lessons of music, dancing and fencing, not understanding anything about this, but only wasting money on endless teachers. "It turns out we are talking about prose!" - he says with enthusiasm to his wife, demonstrating freshly baked education. And he does not notice that everyone is making fun of him...
a cunning named Tartuf, having pretended to be holy, enjoys the host’s trust and takes the whole house to his hands. It would seem that they see all this - but not Mr. Orgon and his mother, to whom the “pious scientist” became closest to all relatives. Thanks to the immortal comedy, the name Tartuf became a common house.
“The tradesman in the nobility”, “Tartuf”, “mean”, “imaginary patient”, “misanthrope” is the golden fund of world literature.
