The use of field theory in electrostatics and electromagnetism. Tutorial. Borodina E.G.
The main issues of the physics course on the topic “Application of field theory in electrostatics and electromagnetism” are set out. The sections of mathematical physics are included. The issues of vector analysis are discussed in detail. The physical consequences of the Gauss - Ostrograd and Stox theorems are analyzed, necessary to solve fundamental problems in the theory of the virgin and solenoid vector fields. Maxwell’s equations, fundamental physical consequences of them, the scales and vector potentials of the electromagnetic field, the equations of Poisson and Laplace are presented. Examples of solutions to problems in some sections of the course are included.
for students of technical universities in preparation for laboratory work and for an exam in physics. The manual will help in the systematization and generalization of knowledge on the course “Application of field theory in electrostatics and electromagnetism”.
