This book tells about the scandalously known experimental boarding school, the creator and permanent director of which was academician M.P. Shchetinin. Open in 1994 in the village of Tekos of the Krasnodar Territory, this school was closed in 2019 by a court decision on the basis of claims of the Ministry of Education. Maria Pankevich herself studied in this boarding school, so the reliability of the certificate cannot be doubtful. At the same time, the “Valley of Beauty” is not a documentary, but an art book, and it tells not about vices and abuses that reign in closed educational institutions, but about freedom and its suppression, about formation and growing up, about loneliness and love.
