The war of Alan. Gieber E.
Emmanuel Gieber is one of the most authoritative French comixists, the holder of the Grand Prix of the International Comics Festival in Angular and the Rene Gosinni Awards for scenario skills.
At the age of thirty, Emmanuel met with the sixty -year -old Alan Inigram Cope, an American soldier who went through the Second World War. A strong friendship ensued between them, and over the next twelve years, Emmanuel recorded Alan's stories about his military everyday life, leaving far from the battlefields, ridiculous cases at the front, which threatened the life of the soldiers, and meetings with a variety of people who played an important role in his fate.
The graphic novel “The War of Alan” is not a chronicle of military events, but a story about the formation of a person and the internal struggle of a common person through which a picture of the life of Europe and America is visible.
