The will of Yaroslav the Wise. Reality or myth? Borovkov D.

“Testament”, or “A number of Yaroslav the Wise”, - under this name, part of Article 6562 (1053/54) is known in the oldest of the surviving Russian chronicles - the novels of the temporary years containing the presentation of cities between the sons of the Kyiv prince Yaroslav I Vladimirovich (after 978-1054) and the proclamation of priority (“elderly”) of the eldest of them, Izyaslav. This annalistic story attracted the attention of most specialists who studied the history of Ancient Rus'. The author offers a new approach to the study of the problem through the study of source -time assessments, based on the fact that the text of the series is the design of chroniclers who formulated on its basis the ideal model of inter -intricate relations several decades after the death of Yaroslav.
