The wind is in the willows. Gram K.
The author of this story Kenneth Graham (1859-1932), before becoming a world-famous writer, published several essays, memories of childhood and the story “Dragon-Lezheboka”, according to which a cartoon was set in 1941.
The story “The Wind in Ivas” K. Graham began to write for his little son, a painful, stubborn, naughty child. It was he who became the prototype of Mr. Toaud - an unbalanced, exalted toad, always involving his friends, and himself, too, in dangerous adventures. Other main characters of the story are badger, mole and uncle Ret - a water rat - typical British: they love their house, real English comfort, a measured lifestyle. At the same time, often, as if against their will, are drawn into different alterations, from which they invariably come out of the winners.
The story has been reprinted in different countries for almost 120 years, translated into many languages of the world. Several translators translated it into Russian, this edition presents a translation of the children's writer and translator Irina Tokmakova. Drawings by Olga Ionaitis, laureate of the XV International Competition “Image of the Book” 2022 for these illustrations.
