The proposed textbook is a material for reading in Chinese in order to master knowledge about the culture and history of China. It is aimed at the formation of lexical, intercultural and sociocultural competencies of students, the development of their skills of oral and written translation, as well as speaking and retelling in the Chinese language.

The manual presents 15 authentic Chinese texts, each of which is connected with The new historical dynasty in China is given exercises for the assimilation of new vocabulary and consolidating the material covered, additional sources of information are given (including documentaries on the history and culture of China). The manual was tested in groups of Russian -speaking students studying Chinese as a second foreign language at the faculty of foreign languages ​​and regional studies of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov.
