The world that Huntington built and in which we all live. Budraite I.
The successes of conservative populism are customary to associate with triumph of affects over rational political behavior: after all, only an unenlightened, subject to irrational fears can doubt that the modern world develops in the right direction. Suddenly, the passive conservatism of moderation and a reasonable compromise retreated before the pressure of conservatism of protest and dissatisfaction with the existing. Historian and publicist Ilya Budraitkis considers this difficult process in the context of the history of the most conservative intellectual tradition, the relationship of conservatism and revolution, as well as a neoliberal turn in the economy and the experiences of the present as a “moral catastrophe.”
