Summer 1945. On the northern outskirts of Moscow, Father Illarion, a priest of the local parish, was killed. By all signs, this is the work of the gypsies hunting for church values. The detectives of Mura Ivan Startsev and Alexander Vasilkov are ready to accept this version, but there is one “but”: a button from the old uniform of the Finnish officer was discovered in the hand of the murdered priest. The gypsies have no such clothes. The hint comes unexpectedly - a man dressed in a similar tunic turned into a local hospital...
