Theater in my life. Shchepkina-Kupernik T.L.

Tatyana Shchepkina-Kupernik (1874–1952)-playwright, poetess, writer, most famous due to her translation work. Her translations of Shakespeare, Lope de Vega, Moliere, Sheridan are well known. Chekhov called it the “great writer of the Russian land.” In her book of memoirs “Theater in my life”, she talks about the theatrical and literary life of Moscow from the times of Chekhov and the young Ermolova, about the Maly Theater, about the Art Theater, about Alexandrinka, about scandals and violent novels in the bohemian environment of that time.
