How objective are the formative assessments about representatives of another culture? The book proposed to readers is the final collective work of large -scale research - a three -volume dedicated to the study of the problems of comparativeness and historical imagology. Famous scientists from academic institutions of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian and foreign universities turn to the history of the interaction of the Western, East and Russia throughout the long chronological period (from the Middle Ages to the present). Particular attention is focused on the complex process of intercultural communication, which is often transformed from dialogue into confrontation or antagonism.
