This publication is a course of lectures on various problems of intercultural communication, which is read by the author at the Faculty of Philology of Moscow State University as a “theory and practice of intercultural communication” in the framework of the specialization.

This course considers the specifics of intercultural communication as a special type of communication. The original typology of communicative failures is presented when communicating with representatives of various linguocultural communities, it is proposed to neutralize these failures, important aspects of the interaction of language and culture are described, and the main attention is paid to the features of the storage of cultural information by units belonging to different levels of the language system.

The book is addressed primarily to linguists and culturalists, as well as all those interested in the problems of intercultural communication.
