Thin psychology. Humorous stories. Tuffy
Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Lokhvitskaya, the “queen of laughter”, known to readers under the name Taffy, is a bright figure in Russian literature of the first half of the 20th century, the author of brilliant humorous stories, immediately loved both ordinary readers and criticism. “She is considered the most entertaining and“ funny ”writer. And on the long road they will certainly take a volume of her stories... ”wrote Mikhail Zoshchenko. Tuffy's works, in which soundless laughter and subtle irony are sometimes combined with a nimble sadness and pity for their characters, were highly appreciated by contemporaries: Alexander Kuprin and Ivan Bunin, Mark Aldanov and Sasha Black. Unusually popular in their homeland, and then in the emigrant environment, Taffy returned to Russian readers in the early 1990s. And since then, collections of her stories and memories come out one after another. This edition presents Tesh's stories, written in different years of life, among them are such small masterpieces as “Lieutenant Caspar”, “Katya”, “Outside the Wall”, etc.; The book also includes Tuffy's “Memoirs” about the journey through the expanses of the “ugly” post -revolutionary Russia, one of the most funny and tragic works of the author.
